SE.TC project partners meet in Beirut and online to advance youth-focused social entrepreneurship

On June 11, 2025, the Lebanese University hosted a partners meeting of the SE.TC – Social Entrepreneurship in Time of Crises project, welcoming representatives from Lebanese partners to its Rafic Hariri Campus, Hadath, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, in Beirut, and European partners online. The meeting focused on validating the project’s curriculum and discussing the next steps in supporting youth social entrepreneurial ideas through education and training.

Collaborative curriculum development

The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by Prof. Selim Mekdessi from the Lebanese University and Prof. May Sayegh from Saint Joseph University, project Coordinator. Discussions centered on the validation of the curriculum developed under Work Package 3, with each partner and the project External Evaluator, contributing insights on structure, content, and delivery.

UNINETTUNO, represented by Dr. Marta Paladini, led the session on curriculum validation, followed by presentations of the modules by each Lebanese partner, with the support of European institutions. The curriculum aims to provide young learners with practical knowledge and skills to initiate socially impactful initiatives.

Local workshops and dissemination activities

Lebanese universities – Saint Joseph University, Lebanese University, East International University and La Sagesse University – presented their plans for implementing local workshops at their respective institutions. These workshops will provide students with the opportunity to engage with the curriculum through interactive and practice-based activities.

The meeting also confirmed the organization of a four-day series of events in Lebanon, scheduled at the end of next October, with each day hosted at a different university. These events will serve both to pilot the curriculum and collect feedback from participants, supporting the development of future MOOCs and broader dissemination.
