The SE.TC project is pleased to share an important opportunity for the academic community in Lebanon and beyond. On 23 and 24 September 2025, the National Erasmus+ team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) in Lebanon will host the webinar “Universities as Catalysts for Sustainable Development: Reimagining Higher Education through SDG4”, starting at 10:00 AM Beirut time via Zoom.
This two-day event forms part of a series of initiatives supporting higher education reform at the national level, with a special focus on aligning Lebanese Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. By emphasizing SDG4 – Quality Education, the webinar seeks to foster a systemic and context-sensitive transformation of HEIs, ensuring their role as drivers of sustainable change in society.
The event will feature contributions from Prof. Arjen Wals, UNESCO Chair in Social Learning and Sustainable Development, and Dr. Kalterina Shulla, Berlin School of Business and Innovation, who will enrich the discussions with their expertise and international perspectives.
By bringing together academics, policymakers, and practitioners, the webinar will provide a space to reimagine the role of universities in shaping a sustainable future, offering insights and practical approaches to embed sustainability in higher education.
Together, we can strengthen the contribution of higher education to sustainable development in Lebanon and the wider region.
