A series of workshops under the Social Entrepreneurship in Times of Crises (SE.TC) project was organised by the East International University at Lebanese International University (LIU) to enhance students’ knowledge and practical skills in social entrepreneurship through a structured, hands-on learning pathway, after the first delivery on June 2025.
The programme – organised by Dr. Sarah Chahine – brought together academic and professional expertise across seven sessions, covering core topics including social entrepreneurship fundamentals, social impact, management, marketing and partnerships, legal frameworks, financial and economic sustainability, digital social entrepreneurship, and business planning. Sessions were delivered between 11 December 2025 and 9 January 2026 by a multidisciplinary team of trainers.

Attendance remained high across the workshop cycle, starting with 59 participants in the introductory session and concluding with 32 attendees in the business plan module—reflecting expected scheduling constraints while maintaining steady engagement across topics.
Students highlighted the practical relevance of the sessions, clarity of delivery, and applicability to real-world social venture development. Key recommendations included allocating more time for practical exercises and case studies, incorporating more local and regional examples, expanding the focus on digital tools, and offering follow-up mentoring to support idea refinement after the workshops.
Trainer feedback confirmed high student motivation and strong alignment across modules. While the modular structure was viewed as effective, trainers consistently recommended extending key modules (especially financial sustainability and business planning), increasing hands-on activities (group work, simulations, pitch rehearsals), and strengthening links to incubation, mentorship, or competitions to support continued development.

Participants received Certificates of Completion (full attendance) or Certificates of Participation (limited absences). Students who completed the workshops were also offered the opportunity to take part in LIU’s Entrepreneurship Competition scheduled for February 2026, where selected teams will compete for funding and support for start-up ideas.
