On 28 and 29 May 2026, the partners of the SE.TC – Social Entrepreneurship in Time of Crises project met online for two days of technical and management discussions, originally scheduled to take place in Rome and held virtually due to the instability in the region.
The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the pedagogical and technical finalisation of the MOOCs developed by the Lebanese partner universities – Saint Joseph University, La Sagesse University, Lebanese University and Lebanese International University. Each Lebanese university presented the progress made in developing the online learning materials, based on the six training modules on social entrepreneurship designed and tested within the project. The modules have been piloted with cohorts of students and young people in Beirut, Tripoli, and the Beqaa region, from summer 2025 until March 2026.
Each module includes selected case studies, offering learners practical examples of social entrepreneurship initiatives and approaches, with the aim of strengthening their knowledge, skills, and capacity to design innovative responses to social and economic challenges.
During the technical session, Lebanese and European partners reviewed the MOOCs produced so far and discussed key aspects related to video quality, instructional design, and learner engagement thanks to the participation of IT team of each Lebanese university and the feedback from European partners. Once finalised, the MOOCs will be made available through the online learning platforms of the Lebanese partner universities, ensuring wider access to training opportunities for students and young people across the country.
Participants completing the courses will be able to receive either a certificate of attendance or a certificate of achievement. The latter will be awarded following the evaluation of project work by expert teachers, ensuring that learners not only complete the training path but also apply the knowledge and tools acquired through the modules.
On 29 May, partners met for the Partners Management Board Meeting, which represented an important occasion to review the final steps of the project before its conclusion in November 2026. The discussion focused on the last pending activities, including the completion and validation of the MOOCs, the continuation of dissemination actions, the organization of the regional workshop, and the preparation of the Final Conference.
The two-day meeting marked an important step towards the consolidation of a shared educational pathway on social entrepreneurship in times of crisis.
