From ideas to action: Lebanese University inspires young social entrepreneurs in Tripoli through SE.TC Training

From 2 to 17 February, 2026, the Lebanese University, through its Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Tripoli Campus, successfully completed a new training cycle under the SE.TC project.

Over the course of two intensive weeks, 24 students took part in a transformative learning journey structured around the seven modules of the official SE.TC curriculum. This new cycle builds on the university’s previous achievements within the project, adding 24 new trainees to the 151 students who had already completed the same programme in 2025. Together, they form a growing community of young people equipped with the mindset, knowledge, and tools of social entrepreneurship.

From the first session to the final pitching day, participants showed strong commitment and enthusiasm. Working in multidisciplinary teams, they challenged assumptions, debated ideas, and gradually developed initial concepts into structured and realistic social enterprise models. Their projects addressed pressing issues such as unemployment, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability, digital inclusion, and community-based services. Particularly notable was not only the quality of the ideas presented, but also the maturity with which students approached questions of impact, sustainability, and long-term viability.

The training was further enriched by the active involvement of Centre MINE, the Center for Careers, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and MILES, the Momentum Incubator for Lebanese StartUps. Their contribution ensured that the programme extended beyond theory, offering students concrete pathways for incubation, mentorship, and the further development of their ideas. By connecting academic learning with real entrepreneurial ecosystems, the experience became both practical and forward-looking.

At a time of crisis, empowering youth is not optional, but essential. Through SE.TC, the Lebanese University reaffirms its public mission to serve society, support vulnerable regions, and turn education into a driver of sustainable development.
